Lootpack. Or something similar. This one is from 97-98. I love the breathy, airy, brass tones. It´s so mellow you don´t know if you´re awake or not. I really like when 16-beat hihats work. It´s hard to program them and get that nice off beat groove.

Ok, this one is also around 1997. I like this one even if it´s nothing special. It´s got a good vibe, and I like the snare sound. The beats are a bit too bouncy perhaps, but its alright. I like piano, it should be used more in beats 🙂

Alright. Back again, it´s been a while. I dug down in the older section this time, and found a couple of quite nice ones. This one is probably from around 97-98. Unfortunatley there´s some digital distortion on it due to the cd being to scratched up to read it properly. Anyway, I like this one, it´s It has a nice Black Moon-ish vibe to it. The harmonies are completely out of tune, which of course is a bit bad, but at the same time it adds to a punky old skool vibe from back then.

My name is Tobias, I used to produce Hip-Hop beats back in the mid 90´s to early 00´s. I had a band, and we released a couple of albums and 12 inches. I made quite a lot of beats back then, so just a few we´re taken up by the band to become songs. A few became remixes and tracks for other artists, but very many never got the chance to shine (some of them probably didn´t deserve to either). A rapper friend has asked me about these beats for some time now, and I finally got around to diggin´them up. Some of the beats are really good, and still work today I would say, eventhough they are made roughly between 1997 and 2001. So I thought I´d do a blog for them, and post one a week or so. I´d love to see these beats come to some use, so my idea with this is to try and get some attention from gifted MC´s who needs beats. If you are a skilled MC, and like what you hear, download the beat, record your verse over it, and mail it to me. I´ll posst it here, and try to gather material for a few of these to become real tracks. We´ll see what happens from there.
